Sifu Eddie Torres was a student and assistant instructor under Grandmaster Ark Yuey Wong at the Wong Ark Yuey Kung Fu Academy of Los Angeles which enabled him to carry on the authentic teaching of the Five Family/Five Animals Style. In addition to learning the Five Family System, he also learned Chinese herbal medicine and therapeutic massage. He was the last closing student and was privileged to serve as pallbearer of the late Grandmaster Ark Yuey Wong.

He was one of a few senior students who completed the secondary advance hand and weapon forms from senior kung fu brother Grandmaster Seming Ma (grandson to GM Ark Wong). To further continue his martial arts training, he studied Lion Dance under the renowned Grandmaster Jeff Chan. He also had extensive Hand-to-Hand Combat Training with the U.S. Armed Forces.

He has fifty years in the martial arts world and has many accolades in the martial arts including being inducted into the International Chinese Martial Arts Championship’s Hall of Fame and has participated as a senior judge in multiple local and international martial arts tournaments. He is also a founding member of the Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Federation.

Sifu Torres has taught privately for over thirty years before deciding to go public and opened the Five Family Kung Fu Academy and Martial Arts Supply in the City of Monterey Park, California. He is still actively teaching seminars across the country and abroad.
